Fifty-Third National Conference
September 23-26, 2010
Marriott Minneapolis City Center
Minneapolis, Minnesota

AN EVENING AT THE DAKOTA JAZZ CLUB

"The most comfortable jazz club in the world for musicians and patrons."
   — Grammy Award winning musician Roy Hargrove

Dakota Jazz ClubRelax and enjoy an evening of exceptional dining and jazz with colleagues at the renowned Dakota Jazz Club following the conference on Saturday, September 25. Only four blocks from the conference hotel (1010 Nicollet), the Dakota is one of the most unique events spaces in the city. Attendees will enjoy a private, three-course meal by award-winning chef Jack Riebel (see bio below) followed by a public concert of sizzling soul and powerful vocals by the classically trained, gospel influenced, and jazz inspired singer, Ginger Commodore. As an added bonus, a special CMS jam session will take place on the stage after the headliner. The cost of the event is $59/person, and includes dinner, gratuity, tax, and the cover charge for the performance. Beverages are not included, however a no-host bar with beer, wine, and cocktails will be available. Seating is limited and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis via the online registration form.

Dakota Chef Jack Riebel
Chef Jack Riebel has firmly established himself as one of Minnesota's premier chefs. He was Chef at La Belle Vie in Stillwater and Executive Sous Chef at Goodfellow's, which topped the Twin Cities' Zagat food ratings for 10 years running. Chef Riebel has cooked for the Mikhail Gorbachev Dinner at the Governor's Mansion, the National Taste of the N.F.L. Super Bowl event for Share Our Strength, and made multiple visits to the James Beard House in New York. Jack also won the 2005 Masters in the Marketplace Celebrity Chef Cook Off and the national 2006 American Cheese Society's "Iron Man Cook Off."
